Contract roles are hardly new and aren’t specific to marketing alone. But as brands continue to make cuts to marketing teams amid a weary economic environment, many are no longer looking to fill permanent senior roles, if hiring for them at all.
In fact, marketing recruitment firm 3Search saw a 59% increase in contract roles on its recruiters’ books in the first half of this year, a trend that doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.
