Jesse Lingard admits lack of ‘focus and focus’ at Man Utd as star explains why he’s thriving on loan from West Ham
JESSE LINGARD believes he came of age for West Ham after lacking “focus and focus” at parent club Manchester United.
Now Lingard is “obviously really enjoying my football” after last month’s loan change, scoring three goals in his first four Premier League games for the top-flight Hammers.
Euro 2021 hopeful said The West Ham site: “I have come here to play football week after week and that’s what I do.
“Playing football makes me happy and when we win and play like we did on Sunday, nothing can beat that.
“It’s about doing it regularly and maybe that’s where I’ve struggled before, doing it regularly in games.
“But I can feel now that I’m coming to an age where I can keep that consistency, that focus and that focus in games and playing games week after week, which I haven’t been used to.”
Lingard also believes that David Moyes’ team made it easier for him to adapt.

He said: “Obviously I’m really enjoying my football and I have settled in really well and the guys have taken me really well.”
United are said to be more than happy with Lingard’s return this summer after his temporary change went exactly as planned for both sides.
