Ovo rebrands as it acknowledges ‘energy is changing’
A streamlined name and a new internal brand position coincide with Ovo embracing its place as a major energy company – but it still wants to keep its challenger spirit.
Ovo is dropping the ‘Energy’ from its name, part of a brand refresh to signal it is maturing as a business.
It is recognition the challenger brand, which was founded in 2009, is now far more than a “kilowatt-per-hour energy supplier”, according to its head of brand Francesca Danczak.
The streamlined name will be rolled out across all of Ovo’s communications from today (17 July) and the business will be closely monitoring the change to make sure there’s no confusion among its customers.
